League season rules

Version of October 9, 2026

1. Organiser

The League is a free contest organised by POK GENIUS, a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with share capital of €5,000, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under number 105 910 350, with its registered office at 6 rue d'Armaillé, 75017 Paris, France, and publisher of the PokGenius platform (the “Organiser” and the “Platform”).

These rules supplement article 18 “Games between members and contests” of the Terms and Conditions of Use and Sale (the “Terms”). For the contest, they prevail over the Terms in the event of a conflict; for everything else, the Terms apply.

2. Seasons

The contest is played in seasons. A season covers one calendar month: it starts on the 1st of the month at 00:00 and ends on the last day of the month at 23:59:59, Paris time.

A season carries prizes if prizes are displayed in the League at its end; otherwise, it remains a ranking season, without prizes. During the season, the prizes and conditions may be changed or withdrawn at any time (article 11). A season that has ended keeps at least the prizes and conditions displayed at its end.

The ranking starts again from zero each season; each player's rating is kept from one season to the next.

3. Free entry, no purchase necessary

Taking part in the contest is free and requires no purchase. It is open to free accounts and subscribed accounts alike.

  • Playing a ranked game costs no money, no coins and no other consideration.
  • No subscription and no purchase gives any advantage for playing, ranking or being named a winner. Only the form of the prize for places 1 to 3 depends on the winner's situation (article 7.2).
  • Games are played with chips specific to each game, which have no value (article 18 of the Terms). A game never pays out coins or any advantage of any kind: only the prizes provided for in these rules are awarded, after the end of the season (article 8).
  • Internet connection costs are borne by the participant.

4. Who can take part

  • Anyone holding an active, personal PokGenius account who is an adult within the meaning of article 4 of the Terms may take part: at least 18 years old, and of the age of majority in their country of residence if it is higher.
  • One entry per person: one account per person.
  • Members of the Organiser's team (administrators, moderators, coaching leads) may play ranked games but do not receive any prize.
  • The contest is void where prohibited by law: each participant must check that the law of their country allows them to take part.

5. Games and ranking

  • Only the League's ranked games count: one-on-one games at 30 big blinds, played with chips that have no value against an opponent chosen by the Platform. The rematch of a ranked game, offered by one of the two players and accepted by the other right after the game, is also ranked: the limits against the same opponent (below) apply to it. Casual games, challenges between friends, Bot Battle and the Platform's other activities do not count.
  • Each ranked game updates the player's rating (the “vs Human rating”, calculated with the Glicko-2 method). This rating is provisional for the first 10 ranked games.
  • Against the same opponent on the same day (from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m., Paris time), the first 3 games count in full, the 4th counts for half and the 5th for a quarter; from the 6th onwards, games no longer count.
  • A cancelled game, or a game won without being played (forfeit or absence before the end of the 3rd hand), does not count.
  • A game counts for the season in which its end is recorded. Games that count under this article are called “counted games”.
  • A season's ranking orders players by their rating after their last ranked game of the season. It includes the players whose rating is no longer provisional at the end of the season and whose account is active: a suspended or closed account does not appear in it. An account under verification is not displayed, but keeps its place in the season's frozen ranking (article 8).
  • If ratings are equal, the player with more counted games in the season ranks higher, then the player who reached their rating first, then the holder of the older account.
  • The ranking shows each player's nickname (or “Joueur #XXXX” if they have none), their plan badge unless they have hidden it, and their rating. It remains available for 12 months.

6. Conditions for receiving a prize

To receive a prize for a season, a player must, at the end of the season:

  • appear in the season's ranking;
  • have played at least 20 counted games during the season;
  • against at least 10 different opponents;
  • have complied with these rules and the Terms.

The numbers above are those in force as of the date of these rules; those displayed in the League are authoritative. They may be changed at any time, including during a season: the change applies as soon as it is displayed (article 11).

Prizes are awarded in ranking order to the players who meet these conditions: a player who does not meet them is skipped, and the prize goes to the next player who does. A player receives at most one prize per season.

7. Prizes

7.1 Prizes on offer. As of the date of these rules, each season with prizes offers:

  • 1st place: 1 month of Elite subscription;
  • 2nd place: 1 month of Pro subscription;
  • 3rd place: 1 month of Pro subscription;
  • 4th place: 2,000 Genius Coins;
  • 5th place: 1,000 Genius Coins.

7.2 Winner already subscribed. If the winner of one of places 1 to 3 already has an active subscription on the day of awarding, whatever the plan (paid, offered or in a trial period), they receive coins instead of the month of subscription: 13,000 Genius Coins for 1st place, 6,000 Genius Coins for 2nd and for 3rd. Places 4 and 5 receive their coins in all cases.

7.3 Month of subscription. The offered month is activated on the winner's account without any payment method, commitment or renewal: it ends automatically after one month.

7.4 Coins. Coins are credited to the wallet of the winner's account. They are governed by article 17 of the Terms: they have no monetary value and cannot be converted into money, refunded or transferred.

7.5 Personal prizes. Prizes are personal. They cannot be exchanged, transferred or converted into money.

7.6 Displayed prizes. The prizes displayed in the League are authoritative. They may be changed or withdrawn at any time, including during a season: the change applies as soon as it is displayed in the League (article 11).

8. Selection of winners and awarding

  • During the night following the end of a season with prizes, the season's ranking is frozen and the winners are selected under articles 6 and 7.
  • The prizes are awarded automatically during the night of the 2nd to the 3rd of the following month (Paris time). If the winners are selected later, the prizes are awarded two days after their selection. Until then, the Organiser's team may check that the games were played fairly and exclude a winner (article 9). It may also award the prizes earlier.
  • A winner who is excluded (article 9), or whose account is closed or suspended at the time of awarding, receives nothing: their prize goes to the next player who meets the conditions. A winner whose account is under verification keeps their prize until the Organiser's team decides; in that case, the season's prizes are awarded only after that decision, which is taken no later than 30 days after the end of the season.
  • The winner is informed by a notification on the Platform when the prize is awarded. No action is required from them.
  • The winners' nicknames may be published on the Platform.

9. Fair play, fraud and collusion

The contest must be played fairly. The following are prohibited in particular:

  • using several accounts, another person's account or a shared account;
  • any collusion between players: losing on purpose, soft play, arranging games to raise a rating, trading wins;
  • help from a solver, a range chart, decision-support software, a bot or another person during a ranked game (the Platform's tools are closed during ranked games);
  • exploiting a malfunction of the Platform;
  • any other practice that distorts the ranking.

The Organiser may check games, hands played and connections. In the event of a breach, it may exclude the player from the season and its prizes, take back a prize awarded in error (removal of the coins, end of the offered month) and apply the measures provided for in the Terms. These decisions are taken by a member of the team, never by automated processing alone; the player concerned may submit their observations to contact@pokgenius.com.

10. Personal data

To run the contest, the Organiser processes the following data: account, nickname, email address, games, hands, ratings, connections and awarding decisions.

This data is used to establish the ranking, check that games were played fairly, award prizes and handle complaints. This processing is based on the performance of these rules and on the Organiser's legitimate interest in preventing fraud.

Only the nickname, the plan badge (unless hidden) and the rating are shown to other members; the email address never is.

Frozen rankings and awarding decisions are kept for 3 years after the end of the season.

Each participant may exercise their rights by writing to privacy@pokgenius.com and may lodge a complaint with the CNIL. For everything else, the Privacy Policy applies.

11. Changes and suspension

These rules, the prizes and the conditions for receiving a prize may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time, including during a season. Any change is announced on the Platform, in the League or on this page, and applies as soon as it is announced.

A season that has ended keeps at least the prizes and conditions displayed at its end.

12. Liability

Participants are responsible for their equipment and internet connection: the Organiser is not liable for a game lost because of the participant's network or hardware.

A game interrupted by a failure of the Organiser's servers is cancelled and does not count.

13. Access to the rules and contact

These rules are available free of charge, in six languages, at pokgenius.com/reglement-ligue.

For any question: contact@pokgenius.com — POK GENIUS SAS, 6 rue d'Armaillé, 75017 Paris, France.

14. Governing law and complaints

These rules are governed by French law, without prejudice to the more protective mandatory rules of the consumer's country of residence. They are written in French: in the event of a discrepancy with a translation, the French version prevails.

Any complaint must first be sent in writing to contact@pokgenius.com. Failing an amicable solution, consumers may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator provided for in article 16 of the Terms, then to the competent courts under ordinary law.
